Top Talent doesn’t Search — SO WE find them

All great expeditions should begin with preparation and strategy. If you don’t have both completed prior to starting your search, you’re just playing catch-up and will be unfocused in your efforts to outpace your competitors looking for the same Wake Creating Talent you need to grow your business. We’re not denying that sometimes you post an ad, a great candidate sees the ad, they apply to the ad and they jump at the chance to join your team. In reality, how often does this truly happen in a highly competitive candidate pool and with unemployment at all time lows?

How do we find them?

  • Fully prepare the search with a thorough conversation with all stakeholders for the need, giving us a clear direction so we don’t waste anyone’s time and have a crystal clear picture of what success looks like for both your organization and the selected candidate

  • Put together a target list and plan that involves strategic and tactical components that will generate a candidate list you won’t be able to find via a job posting

  • Reach out and have conversations with our other wake creating talent relationships to find talent mirrors that might be up for that initial conversation

  • Have holistic conversations with our candidates and the hiring managers along the way, setting clear next steps at every turn so none involved are feeling like they’re missing a beat or wasting time along the way

  • Take the hiring process one step at a time, we’re not going to close someone on the first call (especially when they didn’t know they were looking for a new opportunity), but we will generate excitement for each conversation that builds trust so the offer letter is more of a formality than a hard close or arm twisting to change teams

WHat you should expect Working with us

  • We won’t spend one minute working on a need unless we have a clear understanding and fee agreement in place for that specific project

  • We won’t work on a project until we have a conversation with all stakeholders to clearly understand what our end goal is

  • We won’t send resumes blindly hoping that it will entice a hiring manager into forcing your hand to use us…this is YOUR organization not ours and we’ll treat it as such

  • We want you to have one conversation at a time with the potential candidate, if something doesn’t feel right, we’ll make sure we address that and end the journey if this candidate is not the right fit…this is YOUR organization not ours and we’ll treat it as such (wait, does this sound familiar?)

  • We won’t waste time sending over non-Wake Creating Talent for your review…not in our nature

  • We won’t send resumes for your review on the tail end of a successful search (yes, we’ve seen this done before), doesn’t seem ethical to us

  • We will strive to make the process a win/win for all involved, we’ve done our job if this is the end result
